Food Service Das Dutchman Essenhaus is a family restaurant located in Middlebury Indiana. Martin Weaver held his first job outside the family farm at this eatery that specializes in Amish-Style food. Mr. Weaver continued summer and part-time employment at this fantastic restaurant for more than ten years. Their family-style dining using Amish and Mennonite home-style cooking is their specialty. Featuring entrées like broasted chicken, tender roast beef, juicy baked steak, real mashed potatoes with rich homemade gravy, made-from-scratch noodles, and more they serve visitors from all over the world. The Essenhaus also offers 29 varieties of pie in their restaurant and whole pies are available to purchase from the home-style bakery just down the hall from the restaurant.
